D1 Chengdu Ya’an Kangding Xinduqiao
Starting from Chengdu and passing through the “First Pass of Kangba”, wild flowers are in full bloom along the Tagong road. Occasionally, tents with white background and blue patterns are propped up casually on the green grass. There may also be yaks, horses or sheep. A figure grazing leisurely came into view. Drive to Xinduqiao and stay overnight. The total driving distance on that day was about 400 kilometers, and the total driving time was about 6 hours.
D2 Xinduqiao Litang Daocheng
In the morning, we departed from Xinduqiao and headed to Daocheng via Litang. Haizi Mountain is the largest ancient ice cap relic on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Wuliang River runs through the middle of the Maoya Grassland. There are a large number of swamps and wetlands on both sides of the river, nourishing the life on this huge “oasis”. In the evening, we drove to Shangri-La Town in Daocheng County for accommodation. The itinerary for that day was relatively compact, with a total driving distance of about 400 kilometers and a total driving time of about 8 hours.
D3 Daocheng
Take a sightseeing bus from Yading Village and get off at Zhaguubeng, which takes about 1 hour. The distance is about 7 kilometers. Then, it takes about 10 minutes to hike from Zhaguubeng to Chonggu Temple, which is 500 meters away. The hike from Chonggu Temple to Luorong Niuchang is about 10 minutes. 1.5 hours or about 30 minutes by electric car in the scenic area; and then it is about 5 kilometers from Luorong Niuchang to Milk Sea at an altitude of 4,600 meters. Horseback riding from Luorong Niuchang to Milk Sea costs about 300 yuan/person and takes 2 hours; horse riding can only go to Milk Sea is less than Five Color Sea. It takes about 30 minutes to hike from Milk Sea to Five Color Sea. It takes about 3-5 hours to go back and forth on the same day. If you choose to hike one way, it will take about 4 hours. Overnight in Aden Village or return to Shangri-La Town for overnight stay.
D4 Daocheng Litang Batang
In the morning, we departed from Daocheng via Litang and arrived at Batang. On the way, we visited the Maoya Prairie, which was selected by China National Geographic as “one of the six most beautiful grasslands in China”; there were also sister lakes beyond the check-in point, two clear blue lakes. The plateau lakes are closely linked to each other and are holy and flawless. Stay in Batang for the night. As the last low-altitude residential area before entering Tibet, Batang is a must-choice for many self-driving 318 friends. The total driving distance on that day was about 400 kilometers, and the total driving time was about 6.5 hours.
D5 Batang Mangkang Zuogong Basu
Depart from Batang in the morning and cross the 72nd Turn of the Nujiang River to reach Basu. The 72nd Turn of the Nujiang River is about 12 kilometers long. As the only way to pass through the southern Sichuan-Tibet Line, the road is narrow and the slope is steep, which is very difficult for many riders or riders. Very challenging. The itinerary that day was relatively compact, with a total driving distance of about 450 kilometers and a total driving time of about 9.5 hours. We stayed in Basu County at night.
D6 Basu Bomi
Depart from Basu in the morning to Bomi, visiting Ranwu Lake and Midui Glacier on the way. Surrounded by the green shadows of the mountains, Ranwu Lake looks particularly quiet. The lake is as calm as a mirror, reflecting the crystal glaciers and snow-capped mountains beside the lake. In the morning, we set off from Bomi to Linzhi, passing through Tongmai, the last natural barrier on the Sichuan-Tibet line; passing through Lulang, a dense forest that looks like the sea; and climbing over the snow-covered Sejila Mountain. The total driving distance on that day is about 230 kilometers, the total driving time is about 5 hours, and we will stay in Linzhi at night.
D8 Linzhi Gongbujiangda Mozhugongkar Lhasa
Departing from Nyingchi in the morning, we headed to Basongtso, the Pearl of Eastern Tibet, and crossed Mila Mountain all the way to Lhasa. We saw the majestic Potala Palace on the Red Mountain from a distance, and the dreaming holy city of Lhasa was right in front of us. The total driving distance on that day was about 450 kilometers, the total driving time was about 6.5 hours, and we stayed in Lhasa at night.
D9 Lhasa Langkazi Lhasa
Depart from Lhasa to Yamdrok Yumcuo and return to Lhasa after the tour. Yamdrok Yumcuo is the largest inland lake at the northern foot of the Himalayas. The beauty of the lake and mountains is the best in southern Tibet. It is also known as the three holy lakes in Tibet along with Namtso and Manasarovar. The total driving distance on that day is about 220 kilometers, the total driving time is about 4.5 hours, and we will stay in Lhasa at night.
